The Krypt in MK 11 is quite the grind. You open something and you just hope for the best that you get something you care about. This is a bit confusing as some people believe that you get them by doing them WITH the character that you want. So again to be even clearer: you get a severed head for a character when you have done 50 fatalities to that character. You can play with whatever character you want to grind them out. You have a few incentives for putting forth the effort to get them. Also once you get the severed heads, you unlock a character chest which will reward you with customization cosmetic items for the character that you did the head for.

So a quick tip for those searching for the heads and want it quick and easy. Keep holding that button and run to one of pikes you want to head to be impaled on. And there you go, instant head and in less than 30 minutes you have every head in the game. I tried this just now and it works. Yeah I saw that but it's clearly a glitch.
