Scourge the Hedgehog , originally Evil Sonic , is one of primary antagonists in the American Sonic the Hedgehog comic series , published by Archie Comics. Originally appearing as a mean Sonic in leather attire, Evil Sonic was retooled into "Scourge" in order to further develop him as a character. In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, there is a "multi-verse" consisting of hundreds of parallel universes. The main universe is called the "Prime-verse". The universe given the most focus other than the Prime-verse is called the "Anti-verse". Here, locations and characters are literally polar opposites of the Prime versions. The original leader of the group was Evil Sonic. After a great peace on his planet, Evil Sonic killed his own father and took over that world.
