The library strives to provide professional job opportunities for students during their time at SMCM. We offer flexible job schedules and work with our student interns to schedule within their availability, smcm library study rooms. Working at the library is not only an opportunity for our student interns to gain professional experience, but it also provides exposure to one of the most important resources for students on campus.
The accessibility resource room is available any time the library is open and may be used without limitation by students who reserve the room. DAISY players are available at the circulation desk for a standard two-week loan which can be extended up to one whole semester. Several of our databases include the ability to audibly recite articles. Users can adjust the reading speed and have the software highlight the on-screen as it is read. Users can also download MP3 files of these articles. Assistance retrieving library materials from shelves can also be provided.

Things to know before making a Study Room reservation Reservations for study rooms can be made up to two days in advance. Users should include enough time to set-up, take down, and clean the room. Reservations must be made online. The library does not accept written, faxed, emailed or telephone requests for room reservations. Users are responsible for making reservations. Library staff can show users how to reserve a room, but they cannot reserve the room. These rooms are a shared community resource. The rooms remain unlocked throughout the day. Students are expected to honor each others bookings. Rooms may be booked in 60 minute segments with a three hour daily limit does not need to be consecutive. Rooms may be booked up to three months in advance.
