SS64 site came up a lot in google searches so I went over it properly. It is minimalistic and extensive guide on command line for multiply platforms. Site has reference for commands on multiply consoles, including but not limited to Windows, OS X and Linux. Commands are organized into alphabetized lists. What I like most is extensive examples and usage notes for commands. While switches themselves are not hard to look up, commands are easier to figure out from practical scripts.

I normally use cacls for changing ntfs permissions, but it doesn't seem to do ownership. Is there a windows equivalent to chown? This lets you set the permission to any user you like, without having to be an administrator as I believe takeown.

This book describes and shows how to use the Microsoft-supplied command interpreter cmd. This book addresses bit Windows commands applicable to modern versions of Windows based on the Windows NT environment. You can find out which version of Windows you are running using the VER command. This book first describes using the Windows NT command interpreter, how it receives, parses, and processes commands from users. Then it describes various commands available. To obtain an extensive list of Windows commands and their short summaries, open the command prompt on any Windows computer, and type help. The subject of this book is also known as "batch programming", even though "batch" refers not only to batch files for MS DOS and Windows command interpreter. Other subject terms include "batch file programming", "batch file scripting", "Windows batch command", "Windows batch file", "Windows command line", "Windows command prompt", and "Windows shell scripting". For Windows scripting, cmd. NET and whose streams for pipelines are objects, not character byte streams.
