Tapu koko raid guide
This is a raid that can run the line between an easy duo and a hard duo not because Tapu Koko is so great, but because it only has two weaknesses; Poison and Ground, neither of which are considered huge priorities for raids due to their low average power. Obviously the list has some very prominent exceptions, but a power-deficit is pretty likely for the average player. Because of this one issue, people who have strong lineups ready are likely going to need to pick up the slack for many other raiders, and many raid groups may need more people to be able to take down this deified Legend. Doubling-up on Mega Swampert or Mega Gengar and having them be the only Pokemon on each person's team is a viable strategy, just be ready to drop a Revive and get back into the raid ASAP. This absolute monster is the DPS king for this raid, and it has the advantages of resisting Dazzling Gleam and double-resisting Quick Attack, meaning it can be stupidly strong against that moveset in particular while still sporting solid performance against just about anything else. This should definitely be a priority! Well, you should! Mega Swampert's Ground typing gives it a net-resistance to Electric Type movesets, making it a very bulky counter to most of Tapu Koko's best stuff. It also has the advantage of boosting Ground Type attackers while on the field, meaning it will tend to be substantially more helpful to the team on average than Mega Gengar. While it lacks the back-breaking DPS of the Mega Ghost, it's still a very competitive option in its own right! Basically Mega Gengar, but with less longevity.
Pokemon Go has introduced several Legendary Pokemon since its initial launch, typically making them obtainable through the completion of Five-Star Raids. Due to the overall difficulty of this Raid, make sure that you use strong Poison and Ground-type Pokemon tapu koko raid guide this battletaking advantage of this Pokemon's only weaknesses.
Tapu Koko, of course, is by far the most recognizable of the fourth Tapus of the Gen 7 games and is often regarded as one of the more powerful as its typing and moveset can deal major damage to a number of Pokemon in the game. Shiny Tapu Koko is one of the coolest shinies in all of Pokemon, swapping out its yellow coloring for a meaner-looking black. Since the introduction of Tapu Koko into Pokemon Go, more Megas have been introduced that will help trainers take down this Legendary with ease. Its Flying typing does hit Mega Beedrill and Roserade super effectively. It will also deal super effective damage against other Ground types like Garchomp and Krookodile, so be aware of which moves the Legendary has. Ground types usually are not damaged by Electric moves, but in Pokemon Go they just make it resist so Mega Swampert will still be hit by these attacks, just not effectively. Despite this, Mega Swampert is still the best Ground-type Mega in the game currently.
However, this Guardian also has an explosive, albeit short-lived temper. There are a handful of options for Mega Evolution when countering Tapu Koko, focusing on both of its weaknesses: Poison and Ground. Best of the best, if at all possible you're going to want to bring Mega Gengar to fight Tapu Koko. This Ghost and Poison type resists Fairy and Normal type damage, and it has no relevant weaknesses. Its biggest downside is a lack of a Poison type fast move; however, with Lick and Sludge Bomb , Mega Gengar will deal plenty of damage while boosting other Poison types on the field. However, it's important to note that most of the top counters for this raid are Ground types. There isn't a top performing Ground type Mega for this raid yet, so coordinating with your raid party will be important. If you don't have the extra Mega Gengar Energy to spare, Mega Beedrill also performs very well in this raid. A Poison and Bug type, it resists Fairy type damage, but will take increased damage from Flying type moves.
