In My Hero Academia , there aren't too many ways for a person to improve their Quirk, aside from learning how to use it better. For Tenya Ida, though, it turned out there was a family secret as to how their abilities could be improved, but what it required of him was shockingly brutal. Tenya Ida is known for his Quirk, Engine, which manifests as engines in his legs, complete with exhaust pipes, that somehow allow him to run very fast. The Quirk is prominent among his family, being the signature ability of Ingenium, an inherited hero title that was previously held by his brother Tensei. Tenya Ida took on the Ingenium name after Tensei had his run-in with Hero Killer Stain, as while Tensei survived, he was in no condition to do hero work ever again. With this new name came new responsibilities, though, and a desire to live up to the reputation that the Ingenium name held.
