TDF accomplishes their mission through several programs.

TDF formerly known as Theatre Development Fund is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to bringing the power of the performing arts to everyone by encouraging and See Staten Island's premiere arts and cultural center. One of the oldest and largest nonprofit contemporary art institutions in the States constantly innovates with its exhibitions and events. The Brooklyn Museum houses a huge permanent collection—more than 1 million pieces in all. The New York Botanical Garden features more than a million plants on acres. The landmark theater, home to a weekly Amateur Night, is where many stars launched their careers.

Once upon a time, if you wanted an evening's entertainment and you lived in or near New York City, you went to the theater. That was where you found the biggest stars, the most exciting shows and the best value for your entertainment dollar. New York theater was glamorous, exciting and world famous. If you wanted to be involved with the performing arts, New York was where you wanted to live. This hasn't exactly changed. New York theater is still exciting and glamorous, and if you find yourself in New York City, one of the most thrilling things you can do is go to a Broadway show. But after the first half of the 20th century, the art of live theater began moving to the margins of the entertainment industry. When people wanted to be entertained, they went to a movie or watched television instead. An evening in the theater became an occasional indulgence and the number of plays and musicals in New York shrunk from hundreds to just a few dozen big Broadway shows, plus several dozen more off-Broadway shows. But the TDF also provides support for the theater industry by buying large blocks of tickets as well as sponsoring educational programs to help students become more aware of the theater as a form of entertainment -- assuring that live theater will always have an audience.

Objectives To assist the Ontario commercial theatre sector through associations with Ontario-based producers who seek to present small to mid-sized commercial theatre productions in Ontario. To assist productions that are chosen on the basis of their profit-making potential so that the CTDF remains sustainable and is managed independently by the theatre community. To encourage small to mid-sized Ontario productions, with a particular emphasis on original Canadian works or works performed outside of Toronto. TAP arranges for special discount tickets in the orchestra to be made available to individuals who are hard of hearing or deaf, have low vision or are blind, require aisle seating for medical reasons, use wheelchairs or cannot climb stairs. Various programs also offer accessibility services for people with disabilities. On October 2, , TDF launched a new program, Autism Friendly Performances originally known as the Autism Theatre Initiative , to make theatre accessible to children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as their families. As a result of this initiative, theaters around the country began to see the need for autism-friendly performances in their communities. To make a performance autism-friendly, the show is performed in a welcoming, supportive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, with sensory and communication disorders, or learning disabilities. Slight adjustments to lighting and sound are made.
