Over a decade ago, an American family started the UPPAbaby company with the dream of making family life easier with innovative products that didn't sacrifice convenience or features for the sake of style or budget. They also have a line of top-ranked car seats. For an umbrella stroller, the Minu is somewhat hefty at This weight is slightly higher than the average. The Minu measures 6, cubic inches when folded, compact and fair compared to the competition. More importantly, it folds in thirds, similar to the BabyZen Yoyo2 and the Zoe Traveler , making a package small enough to fit in an overhead compartment.

This is a great, compact buggy with a fantastic fold, sturdy feel and good-sized basket. Perhaps a smidge too expensive to make it a no-brainer. Launched in the , the American UPPAbaby brand is constantly looking to make its strollers lighter, easier to use and fun. It combines this mission with sleek designs and seems to focus on doing fewer products the right way, rather than bombarding the market with endless releases. UPPAbaby has found a devoted fanbase with its Vista and Cruz buggies, which offer well-designed prams that are practical and functional. It has launched in a well contested market, currently spearheaded by the Babyzen Yoyo2 , which was the first lightweight buggy that promised a fold that complied with cabin baggage dimensions. The Minu also sells itself on a compact footprint and fold, ideal for city living and travel. Cleverly, it can be adapted for newborns with the addition of the From Birth Kit and can be used with carseats, which is smart, as users often want all those options these days. However, not all have the adaptability of the Minu. See our pick of the very best compact buggies here. Having tested a few lightweight buggies such as the Babyzen Yoyo and the Babyjogger City Tour, I was pleasantly surprised by my first glimpse of the Minu. It had a refreshing blue colour the Ryan option , breezy fabric, and a sleek, matt silver chassis. Having tested quite a few fantastic new buggies over the recent year, I am very accustomed to sleek designs and a good pushing experience. Even though the Minu has a clever compact fold, the seat size feels very generous for the child.

At 21 inches wide, the forward-facing Minu collapses easily with one hand into a compact package that stands on its own when folded. Those features, combined with the fact that the stroller weighs in at just 15 pounds, make getting around on public transportation or moving the stroller into and out of the trunk a breeze. But this lightweight stroller is also light on onboard storage. I used the Minu for roughly two years in New York City and while traveling, and found I could fit a standard diaper bag in the undercarriage with some encouragement.
Table of contents. Why is finding the perfect travel stroller so incredibly challenging? There are so many features to consider, and at the end of the day, all Dan and I really wanted was a lightweight stroller that folded up pretty small for road trips and flying, and popped up from a folded state with a simple click. When I saw that 8 out of 10 friends said they had the UPPAbaby Vista , and that they were happy with it despite the high price! Dan and I agreed that having a safe, strong, durable and high-quality stroller could be the difference between happiness and frustration, so we did it. UPPAbaby is a brand that claims to put family first, and prides itself on excellent customer service.
Uppababy minu review
The American company has launched a number of sleek and stylish strollers over the years including the Vista , Cruz and Ridge. The original Minu was only suitable up to a weight of 15kg, rather than 22kg like the Vista V2 and Cruz V2, but this latest version will also accommodate a child up to 22kg. The Minu V2, has front and rear spring action suspension, promising to glide over many different types of terrain with minimum bumps and jolts, and has an adjustable seat and leg rest, perfect for napping and for sitting upright to enjoy the ride. They tested it over pavements, country lanes, a playing field and in a busy town centre. They also used the Minu V2 for travelling on the train and on a flight. The Minu V2 was neatly packed together, with minimal packaging and an instruction manual. The handlebar and bumper bar felt like quality leather and the light frame looked good and felt sturdy, as did the wheels. Our Minu V2 came in the Stella colourway, a grey melange which looked good against the chestnut-coloured leather of the handlebar and bumper bar. One of my first thoughts though was that the grey, although understated, is a little bit dull, but typical of the colours often being offered nowadays for baby equipment.

I loved the brakes on this stroller, with a stop and start brake on each side at the back in red and green. At Oops, we messed up. Cleverly, it can be adapted for newborns with the addition of the From Birth Kit and can be used with carseats, which is smart, as users often want all those options these days. We respect your privacy. It all looks of great quality, and there is no give or bend, creaks or squeaks. The Minu has accompanied us on trips to the park, woodland walks, the zoo, on gravel, grass and a certain amount of mud, and it has always performed well.

Style 4. Unfortunately there is no alternative option for vegans. In those tests, we use each stroller the way you would, but with a weight that simulates a child. Frances Leate. It has a 20 lb weight allowance which is huge for this stroller style, but the shallow design means you likely won't reach this limit. It slides on effortlessly, clicking securely into place and seems to be a very easy process with or without your baby inside. The UPPAbaby Minu is a stylish top-ranked umbrella stroller that folds into thirds and would fit well in the overhead storage bin on an airplane. One of my first thoughts though was that the grey, although understated, is a little bit dull, but typical of the colours often being offered nowadays for baby equipment. Bob Gear Wayfinder.
