Welcome to the first product teardown by T Works. We decided that the popular electric mosquito racket would be a great candidate for our first teardown since it is a great example of how a simple working principle can be packaged into a product that is economical, effective, and fun to use. In this teardown, we will discuss the external design of the racket, the internal mechanisms and electrical components used, and the manufacturing techniques used to make the components. The racket is a device used to kill mosquitos; the user waves the racket around to catch a mosquito between the metal grid, which shorts the circuit and electrocutes the insect. The device is extremely popular in tropical countries like India, where mosquitos are a nuisance and responsible for spreading lethal diseases like malaria and dengue. There are many brands and variations of the racket available in the market. The racket is made by Akari, a company based in Hong Kong. Most of the rackets available in the Indian market are made in China. The device is packaged in a clear polypropylene bag with a sticker label which details the brand, device specifications, usage instructions, and warnings. The bag can be reused to store the device. This is a good example of cost-effective packaging that is useful throughout the life of the product.

A fly-killing device is used for pest control of flying insects, such as houseflies , wasps , moths , gnats , and mosquitoes. A flyswatter or fly-swat , fly swatter [1] usually consists of a small rectangular or round sheet of a lightweight, flexible, vented material usually thin metallic, rubber, or plastic mesh around 10 cm 4 in across, attached to a handle about 30 to 60 cm 1 to 2 ft long made of a lightweight material such as wire, wood, plastic, or metal. The venting or perforations minimize the disruption of air currents, which are detected by an insect and allow escape, and also reduces air resistance , making it easier to hit a fast-moving target. A flyswatter is ideally lightweight and stiff , allowing quick acceleration to overcome the fast reaction time of the fly six to ten times faster than a human , [2] while also minimizing damage caused by hitting other objects. The flyswatter usually works by mechanically crushing the fly against a hard surface, after the user has waited for the fly to land somewhere.
Mosquitoes , the Culicidae , are a family of small flies consisting of 3, species. The word mosquito formed by mosca and diminutive -ito [2] is Spanish and Portuguese for little fly. All mosquitoes drink nectar from flowers ; females of some species have in addition adapted to drink blood. Evolutionary biologists view mosquitoes as micropredators , small animals that parasitise larger ones by drinking their blood without immediately killing them. Medical parasitologists view mosquitoes instead as vectors of disease , carrying protozoan parasites or bacterial or viral pathogens from one host to another. The mosquito life cycle consists of four stages: egg , larva , pupa , and adult.

This is also a big reason why China is the current manufacturing hub of the world: due to the availability of low cost manpower as well as access to a variety of manufacturing technology at low costs. In the Far East, it is a large bottle of clear glass with a black metal top with a hole in the middle. His tweet triggered a conversation among people on the microblogging website who shared photos of their electric racquets too. In some swatters, an inner expanded metal or wire grid mesh is sandwiched between two outer arrays of rods, designed so that fingers are not able to poke through and bridge the electrodes, while small insects can. Today's ePaper. USA en. Therefore, this prior art design is not satisfactory in function. Further, the shaft 40 houses an electric circuit not shown that is electrically connected between the internal charged mesh 24 and the battery set in the grip As the long summer season comes upon the subcontinent, along with the sweet relish of cold drinks and ice creams comes a long standing nuisance that has done nothing but raise the tempers of people in general. Because the shaft 40 is a flexible rod member, operate the electronic mosquito racket 10 with a swiping motion causes the shaft 40 to vibrate, enhancing the swiping speed.
The electric mosquito bat, also known as the electronic insect-killing swatter, has become a popular tool for mosquito control. But have you ever wondered who invented this innovative device?
Rameshwaram Cafe Explosion. The insect may be captured on an adhesive internal surface, or simply held inside the device until it dehydrates and dies. USA1 en. The design is optimised to allow the use of a single pull mould i. In contrast to the traditional flyswatter, such a design can only be used on an insect in mid-air. Designers employ the shapes of existing products already familiar to users when developing the form factor of a new device which requires user interaction. Operation Valentine Review. Net gains. The handle enclosure sandwiches the mesh subassembly and is held together by self-tapping screws. The shape of the device is deliberately modelled after a tennis racket so that the user intuitively knows how to hold it and use it; the mosquito is the equivalent to a tennis ball that you have to hit. Noida Student Murder Case. This is expected, as the device has no IP to differentiate itself in a competitive market where price is a major purchase influencer. The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. For the Eels song, see Flyswatter song.
