As Survival Evolved underwent years of expansion from a comparatively slim early access release, the new Unreal Engine 5 iteration of the game known as Survival Ascended is now taking on a similar path to restore the full sum of content piece by piece. It isn't all going to be a one-to-one comparison, however, with Scorched Earth making some changes and additions for its new implementation. The original announcement of Ark: Survival Ascended came as something of a surprise at the end of March , with the news dropping right before April Fool's Day and coinciding with another delay for the planned sequel Ark 2. It's no surprise that Survival Ascended has received a mixed response in some regards, generating frustrations with the restarted cycle of updates along with some performance issues and the general lack of major news about Ark 2. Nonetheless, it's managed to ride the popularity of the IP to a large and active user base, so there shouldn't be any concern about planned content drying up any time soon.
